Trends to Try This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is next week, and we don’t know about you, but we are super excited. What’s not to love about great family, great friends and GREAT FOOD! Since Thanksgiving dinner usually happens in the afternoon, it can be hard to choose an outfit that is festive and exciting to wear, but not too fancy. Let’s be honest, we need it to wear something comfy and relaxed so we still have room for the pumpkin pie at the end. Our fashion choices should always support our lifestyles, and not vice versa!

We’ve been doing some perusing, and if you haven’t yet come up with the perfect attire, we have some ideas for you. Here are some super cute trends that are totally worth trying:

Plaid:

There’s nothing more fall-y than plaid, which makes it the perfect style for Thanksgiving. You can keep it casual with a flannel button down and some awesome boots, or dress it up a bit with a plaid dress and tights.

Knitwear:

When you look over a bunch of autumn items, the eyes are instantly drawn to the oversized, super cozy and awesome sweaters. Cableknit button downs are a fall staple, and make a great addition to any Thanksgiving outfit. Pair yours with a short skirt and tights, or add a belt and some jeans. Either way, you’ll look perfect for the season and stay warm and comfortable at the same time.

Vintage Dresses:

There is something so elegant and romantic about these vintage-but-modern smock dresses. Pair yours with pearls and ballet flats and you’ll surely be the belle of the Thanksgiving ball!

Sweater Dress:

If you love dresses but were also tempted by the cozy sweater option, you may want to compromise with a warm and flattering sweater dress. Perfect for colder weather when paired with tights and boots, you can cinch yours with a belt or leave it plain- or switch off throughout the meal! Be sure to choose a dress that sits well on your body and doesn’t itch.

Animal Print:

Be careful with this one, because it can definitely backfire, but little accents in leopard or zebra print can give an outfit a real boost. Try something like a scarf or shoes, and keep the rest of the outfit neutral in beiges or black.

Fall Colors:

This sounds so obvious, but sometimes all you need is a little color to brighten up your look. Fall colors are deep and gorgeous, so why not let them speak for themselves? Dark yellow, hunter green, burnt orange and maroon are all great options, and you can totally mix and match to capture the Thanksgiving spirit! Add pearl earrings for an interesting and classy contrast, and you’re good to go.
