It’s the season for giving thanks, and here at Pearl and Clasp we are just over the moon! Seriously, what a gorgeous time of year. We love reflecting on our lives and practicing gratitude with our families and friends. If you haven’t taken the time already, make yourself your favorite fall drink (chai latte? hot apple cider?) and spend some quiet time on introspection.
Of course, Thanksgiving is also a time for fashion, and you might be starting to worry about what you’ll wear to dinner. Whether you’ll be celebrating with family or friends or both, there is one accessory we know you’ll be wearing to your Thanksgiving meal: pearls! Now the question is: what to wear with them?
If you’re going for a casual yet sophisticated look, skinny jeans in a dark color (or black) are the place to start. Next choose a top that shows a bit of skin, but keep it sophisticated, like a blouse with a deep v or a very wide boat neck. Add another layer to keep things dynamic (and warm), like a leather or suede jacket. Heeled booties or point-toe flats make the perfect shoes for this ensemble, and don’t forget pearl earrings, a great leather bag and some light makeup!
If you’re aiming for flirty, we recommend an a-line mini skirt and tights paired with a bulky, cozy sweater. If the weather is cold, a turtleneck would work well. Add some red lipstick, a generous dose of mascara and some simple jewelry, and don’t forget heeled black booties!
Even though scarves and hats are absolutely delicious, you may want to avoid anything too fuzzy to avoid static cling and the resulting frizzy hair. You don’t want to be distracted during dinner- just take it easy and enjoy the time spent with your loved ones!
Until next time,
