Ok, the clock is really ticking now, and if you still have nothing planned for Halloween, you’re really living life in the fast lane. As usual, we’ve got you covered with some simple, classy, super cute DIY costumes that don’t require any rare or unusual items to make them work. Sounds good, right? Read on!
- Madeline. You remember Madeline, the red headed heroine who lived in the little house in Paris, all covered in vines. She wore a cute royal blue dress with a collar and a red neck tie, a yellow hat with a ribbon, white gloves, and black Mary Janes. And so will you, if you choose this costume for Halloween. Add some white knee socks for a bit of flare (and warmth!), some pearl earrings for a touch of sophistication, and you’ve got yourself an excellent.
- Audrey Hepburn. One of the classiest women of all time, this icon is totally worth emulating on Halloween, and on any other day of the year. You’ll need a black shift dress, ropes of pearls, gloves, an updo and some glamorous makeup to pull this costume off.
- Gypsy fortune teller. This one includes a touch of mystery and romance that you can’t cook up with just an outfit. Get in the mood with a maxi skirt (or several, layered), a peasant blouse, a several scarves. Wrap one or two around your waist, and another in your hair, add a belt, dark eye makeup, a pouch, ankle boots and armfuls of bracelets. If you can find a crystal ball, great, but if you can’t, your ensemble will certainly stand on its own.
- A mime. This is really easy, and has a really impressive effect. Pair a black and white striped top with a black skirt or trousers, add suspenders and a black top hat or beret. Next tie your hair back in a low ponytail, and use white face paint or powder your face in a few shades lighter than your skin tone. Line your eyes in black and add lines down each eyelid, then draw a red heart with lipstick over the center of your lips. Add gloves and you’re done!
