So, just last month we talked about Mother’s Day and the best Mother’s Day gifts, and now it’s time to discuss Father’s Day. True, most dads won’t want a strand of pearls or teardrop earrings, but we do have a few ideas that may be worth looking into if you need a bit of inspiration.
First, go through the Dad’s routine. Is there anything that could improve it? Think travel mugs, briefcases.. Maybe a retro lunch box! Of course, you can always embellish his work space or home office with new framed photos, personalized artwork or a new plant. Take it up a notch with a personalized, handmade desk organizer with charging docks, pen holders and spaces for business cards, keys and a wallet, or choose something in a specific theme that he really appreciates, such as a pen carved from wood or a Vikings-style ring.
Not what you’re looking for? How about a membership to a local gym, pool or fitness class that he’s been hoping to join. You can also look into other local classes- perhaps this lucky Daddy has always dreamed of learning to sculpt, work with wood, or fly a plane! Why not surprise him with lessons and set aside blocks of time in his schedule to show how much you care. If you can be subtle, try to find out what he wanted to do when he grew up, and find some way to let him experience that childhood dream with his kids now.
Don’t forget that men love to be pampered too! Never underestimate the value of fancy night out, a spa day, or even a romantic homemade meal or family picnic. Watch some tutorials and surprise hubby with some professional massage techniques– and then show him the ropes so he can return the favor!
It’s so easy to get caught up in our daily routines, and special days like these give us opportunities to step back and appreciate our lives and our loved ones. So get out there and make it count!
Until next time,
