It’s the middle of January, it’s freezing, we plan our days around our hot drinks… What better time to talk about swimsuits, right? While we loooooove winter fashion, we thought we could use a little virtual vacation so we’ve been looking into upcoming bathing suit trends to look forward to when the season turns. Here’s what we’ve found:
Whether it’s a one-piece or a two, lacing is hot in 2017. We love one-pieces with a bit of a twist, and laces down the back is a great way to add some interest without revealing too much extra skin. Laces also let you adjust the swimsuit size a bit, which is great if your size doesn’t stay 100% consistent from year to year or season to season.
Floral patterns are popping up everywhere, and the beach is no exception! From large flower prints to smaller, dainty patterns, flowers are feminine, colorful and just perfect for summer. If you’re planning on chilling poolside come summer, you may want to look into one of these botanic beauties.
Though they may have once been just for moms, tankinis are rapidly gaining popularity. Flattering, forgiving and convenient, some of this year’s trendiest suits are tankinis! Mismatched tops and bottoms are all the rage, and unique straps and necklines add even more interest to this style.
Crochet and Embroidery
Say hello to delicate grace with these solid-colored suits with emroidered and crocheted detailing. We love how they combine modern bathing suit trends with a more nostalgic, vintage-style theme. Be sure to keep these suits out of your standard laundry load to ensure that the threads don’t fray or get snagged!
This retro cut rings of a classier time: a time of pearls and red lips and perfect curls. Offering a bit more coverage and a flattering silhouette, high-waisted bikinis look great on most body types and will fit right in in 2017! Solids, stripes, polka-dots and geometric patterns are all great options if you want to make a splash! 😉
We’ll keep you updated at more swimsuit trends begin to emerge. In the meantime, stay warm and cozy!
Until next time,
